Many of you have asked when we can expect a referral. The short answer: Who knows?!
The longer answer: It is difficult to know when to expect a referral in Kyrgyzstan because there is no central database listing available children (as opposed to Russia). The children are referred as they enter the orphanages or in some cases the maternity hospitals. What we have heard from our agency sounds very promising. We are currently 4th in line (with our agency). However, our agency is expecting 2 referrals to come in this week, which means we will move up to number 2. And because we are very open in our request for a referral (regarding age/race/etc), there is a possibility that we will get a match ahead of the family in front of us. Does that make sense? So we are near the top of the list with our agency! Yeah! Of course, it could be several more months before any more referrals come to our agency. But knowing we are getting very close to seeing our little HotDog's face has me VERY excited. I'll admit, I've been sneaking peeks at all of the clothes for little girls. They are so cute! Especially the adorable little bathing suits. But not to worry (especially you, Stu!), I will resist the impulse to buy anything until we get our referral and know what size she is and her age. But after that, all bets are off!

That is very exciting that you are close to the top of the list! Can you shoot me an email? I didn't know you could request race... I thought the kids were all Eurasian. I didn't know you weren't requesting a specific age either...
I can't believe how close you are!! I hope it happens soon. I can't wait for you to meet your little hot dog!! Even though we are going for a little boy, I glance at all the little girl clothes and Troy just sighs and says "Maybe in a few years!!"
I have to agree that little boys clothes are all about the same after the age of 2. You will love buying clothes for your daughter and I have to control myself too. I can always find another dress, etc. that I just gotta have.

You see, I FULLY understood what you were saying, but the non-adoption addicts (haha) won't have clue what you meant about your referral! :-) We are three behind you and EXCITED for you to get your referral and move on out of the line *big smile*.
4th in line seems like a great place to be! Those little girl clothes are too, too precious. Ever more than the clothes - the shoes!!! I love little girl shoes!
That is great news! It sounds like you may get "the call" very soon! I hope so, as you all have waited for so long to add this little girl to your family! Yes-little girls clothes are so cute! Target has really cute little girls shoes, too! :)
It's so hard to wait! I know how that is! And you just want to help the time go by with a good shopping trip. But noooooo... you still have to wait for sizes and age.
Maybe shopping for yourself is in order!
